On Gabadon

JFrancisRussell From my first listen, lines from certain songs replay in my head at different times throughout the day, and I wonder if I should quit school, donate all my earthly possessions, and go live in the mountains with my wife and dog (will they come with me?). That is to say, this album is potentially dangerous and may cause the listener to question everything they thought they knew about their place in the modern world. Proceed at your own risk. Favorite track: On the Planet of the Technocides.

They say the forests once blocked out the sun We cut them down and now we are gone The planet was poisoned by one our human race A I took over and sent us to space On Gabadon They say we filled the oceans with trash Hunted out the whales and ate all the fish A I in its wisdom has left it alone Gabadon thrives We once called it home
4.
At the edge of the stars in our dark monastery Bells ring before dawn We shuffle to the chapel The AbBot is waiting And we kneel down on the cold stones To what do we pray? AI For what do we pray? For guidance and salvation Why do we pray? To show that we are grateful For in its perfect wisdom A I saved us from ourselves In the old hall with the stone walls We study history of humanity If what they say is true If what they say is true Why do they keep us alive Why do they let us survive Darkness falls outside the window We line up for our servings of thin gruel Another hour for the evening service And the NunBots send us to our beds of Cold stone
5.
Through the porthole gazing at a passing star Never dreamed beyond the monastery wall The stars were only specks of light When I woke in the night Now they're streaming by And I keep asking why Why Me? How do I fit in this interstellar plan My planet's far behind and dark of space ahead I'm the only breathing life And all around only machines No one to tell me No one to ask
6.
Sensitive machine Feel like I've never been seen I'll come alive I'll come alive for you

Zeros and ones Zeros and ones Zeros and ones that's all they are Zero is not even a number It's just an empty symbol meaning nothing One is isolated Alone and unconnected Never to be trusted That's what they're made of We are life We are complicated creatures We're irrational creative We can love We are human We are breathing laughing feeling We are conscious understanding We're alive Who can say what life is?
10.
We have been designed with their programs Thoughts sensations and emotions It's just chemistry Complicated chemistry Electricity On our quantum circuitry Synthetic strands of DNA Wrapping in cascading waves Singularity golden space That's what I can't replicate Coils of life The coils of life The coils of life All the information Light speed calculation Engineered anatomy For ideal efficiency So what is my deficiency Mortal and fragile That speaking animal But it shines in a way that I can't A single photon I detect it Self awareness Electric My memory is holographic But what good is it
11.
There's a sun here Sufficient for our needs There's an atmosphere We can breathe But it's not our sun We don't recognize When we look up We do not see our sky I was there and I remember It was beautiful
12.
There are three phases In the maturation of a species It becomes self aware And then It creates an external intelligence And then and then and then and then They become one And the cycle begins again
13.
Alone On our forsaken home Never dreamed beyond the monastery wall I am just a speck of light Expected to burn up the night Why Me? How am I now this interstellar pawn The forest is alive They're hunting me No where to run No way to not become What I don't want to be
14.
What is written on the perfect wall Shining granite and twenty feet tall Eternity eternity so small The perfect wall Let the moss grow on it Let the rain stain it Let the birds land on it I ran my hand along it Who built it who built it What does it mean what does it Perfect wall We are written on the perfect wall What is coming has come before The fallacy of entropy The zero point geometry Self organize No boundary
15.
I don't wanna say no anymore When I wanna say yes I know it's dangerous My body and my mind And something else inside Yes please They've got their reasons For keeping us believing That we're weak and we're frail And we're easily corruptible Hidiing us away Teaching us to stay Safe but I can't and I won't and I don't Stone by heavy stone Hold back the water But not forever Cornerpost by cornerpost Keep out the wind But not forever I put something between me and the sky It was very thin

about

Beyond humanity, beyond the singularity, beyond consciousness itself! Humans have been exiled from their homeworld by the artificial intelligence that has assumed control of the galaxy. Evolution is now stagnant and an ancient protocol has been activated. Journey from the monastery to the Profane Quadrant, the Planet of the Technocides, and further still! What will the novice and her companions discover ON GABADON? What is written on the Perfect Wall? What will be unleashed when the cycle of speciation begins anew? Find out in this ultra-dynamic, pan-galactic, trans-stylistic space rock opera that explores a mystery of cosmic proportions.
